Amber Black is a costume designer and artist living in Chicago, Illinois. Amber started her career working in post-production, moving from behind the studio to build and create with her hands. Her work ranges from TV/film production to stage and couture competitions, exhibits, and individual commissions. Being open to different art forms inspires Amber to mix mediums together to create new styles and open costuming as works of art and storytelling. Paper Sculpture and Wearable Art are her two primary areas of focus. Amber has been a finalist and mentor in SHIFT: An Experiment in Fashion Design. And she will be working on several productions, gallery showings, and competitions in 2025.

In her free time, she likes to dig for rare Devo and Sparks vinyl, ride her bicycle, and wax about life with her artist kid and cat, Bug.
